Motivate, Motivate, Motivate....

Apologies for my slovenly blogging habits. Been busy, been away for work, been slack, been cursing the fact that the hard drive on my pc died. It just started not working (that's like 'stopped working' but a bit different, in fact quite different!)
All my photo's, lots of my writing (including some of my freelance jobs that were either complete or in progress) and general guff was kept on the pc.

And NO I didn't have some of it backed up. And YES I should have had it backed up. Had some of it backed up but not all.

The other half who, as luck would have it, is an IT guru, seems to think it may be able to be fixed. I'm not convinced but I sure loves his optimism.

What is interesting is this. I've asked several times if he can 'have a look' at my computer. His response to this is usually an enthusiastic "Yes! I will do that, can you remind me later".

Then when later comes, and I ask "can you have a 'look' at my hard drive?" His response is the same "Yes! I will!!! - Can you remind me to do that?"

I'm confused - I thought I was 'reminding'. And, furthermore, I love 'reminding' him about stuff usually and he calls it 'nagging'! (such an unpleasant word!). I spoke to my friend Bel, today who said her word for nagging is 'motivating' - so much nicer.

I'm not sure how I can 'remind' him more effectively. I'm thinking I might paint his toenails in his sleep and rid the house of nail polish remover until he comes to the party and 'looks' at my hard drive, but that's not really reminding, just peurile and childish. Mind you it seems like a fair way to deal an individual who may or may not have put make up on me in my sleep and then took photos because and I kid you not, He was 'bored'. (should I admit that??)

Mind you none of this is getting my computer fixed! I've reminded until I've needed to sit down and fan myself and take some 'salts', but to no avail. I'm beginning to wonder if he even knows how to do it. (that last comment was just on the off chance he DOES read my blog.)

So until my reminding/motivating facilitates some change and I figure out how to upload more photo's, It's going to be slim pickings here at Happy Stash with downloaded photos from google image!

It is so nice to know that I am not the only one who has to be a "reminder" constantly, it seems that after the eighth reminding the reminder then does indeed become a nagger or so I have been told!
Glad to see you blogging again, have a lovely weekend.

i love the way you write :) as for the pc, tell him you'll book it into to a tech and pay to have it looked at or better yet, you'll just have to buy a new laptop/pc as good service is hard to find ;)

i love the makeup in your sleep, totally crafty of him :D

I'm just not sure why you are going to paint his toe nails and then rid the house of nail polish remover if you want the computer attended to quickly...I would be painting his finger nails. That would REALLY get his motor runnin'!....he doesn't know where I live does he? Jen

Hope your "motivation" works soon - I can well understand your frustration. So glad you like the Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt - Jenni was so surprised - it was wonderful. Looking forward to seeing yours one day.

I'm a 'reminder' too (sometimes I think just a personal secretary!) - apparently if I remind too often and then I get called a nag. It is a confusing line apparently .....
